Meet the Kavitrayam కవిత్రయం
Telugu's literary age opens in the 11th century with Nannaya (నన్నయ), honoured as the Adi Kavi, the first poet. He began rendering the Sanskrit Mahabharata into Telugu in the elegant champu style — a mix of verse and prose.
He didn't finish it. Two centuries later Tikkana (తిక్కన) carried the work forward with great dramatic force, and in the 14th century Errapragada (ఎర్రాప్రగడ) completed it.
Together these three — Nannaya, Tikkana, Errapragada — are revered as the Kavitrayam, the Trinity of Poets. Every Telugu poet who followed stood on the foundation they laid.
